job profile position: line leader reports to: production manager key responsibilities: 1. Production with least cost: line leader is responsible for organizing the day's production while utilizing minimum resources. - shall ensure all mateirals are available for operators to run production. - shall ensure that required people are available for the days production. - shall periodically monitor the production output and make correction wherever required. - shall continuously work for manufacturing cost reduction by eliminating 7 wastes on the shop floor 2. Quality of goods: line leader is responsible for the quality of the products manufactured. - ensure all production operators and testing technicians are trained in quality aspects. - all production equipment’s are well maintained and working well further all the testing equipment are well calibrated. - record of all the production and testing are maintained. 3. Training the team: line leader is mainly responsible for training the team in quality and quantity. - ensure that every operator and testing technician is well trained before assigning a job. - whenever an operator is assigned a new role, training is provided before assigning to the new role. 4. Maintaining 5s: line leader is responsible for maintaining 5s on the shop floor - ensure 5s is maintained at all the locations of the production floor - periodic/calendar 5s activities are to be carried out and records are to be maintained
